On a foggy night a boy called Jake drove home from a party by bike. He wasn't drunk, but it was so foggy that he didn't see the car going his way, so the car hit him. A woman got out of the car to look at him. She was pretty calm because she was a doctor. Therefore she called the ambulance when Jake passed out. She also called the police to report the accident.

After that she looked after Jake and examined him. She found out that fortunately he only had a broken leg. While she was examining him, he woke up. At first he didn't know what had happened. The nurses took Jake to a room and he fell asleep. Jake woke up in the morning and saw the doctor standing before him. “Good morning Jake” the doctor said “my name is Anne but we already know each other.” Jake was a bit confused because he didn't know where he knew her from. “ Anne? I know this name from somewhere but...” said Jake while Anne interrupted him “from high school, but that's not important now. You broke your right leg...you were lucky because that could have ended really badly.” Jake didn't know what to say at first because he hadn't got along well with Anne before ... actually, they had hated each other. Jake didn't say anything, so the atmosphere got a little uncomfortable. “Okay, if you have any questions you can ask me now or later, but right now, get some rest” said Anne. “Do you know what happened to me or... no, wait I mean do you know who drove the car?” asked Jake. “ Yes, it was me. But I didn't mean to... I didn't see you at all... I'm sorry” said Anne. “Oh okay... ehm I- it's okay “ Jake replied a bit uncertain. Anne asked “Do you have any questions?” Jake hadn't answered the question. He just looked down to the floor. Anne laughed and said:” Just like in high school...you were starring down the floor when someone asked you ,"too many,, questions” Jake looked at her and smiled. Anne walked out of the room while Jake was thinking “ Why was she so nice to me? Because of the accident? She was in a good mood I think.”

In the afternoon Anne came to the room where Jake was and said:” Everything is okay, so you can go home. I will give you some medicine and crutches so that you can walk. Before you go home, go to the reception and fill out the release papers.” “Okay, thank you that you care about me, and I will do so,” said Jake and Anne answered “ I'm a doctor... that's my job. I always care about my patients.” Jake went to the reception and Anne helped him “Thank you for everything and good bye” said Jake and Anne answered “Good bye.”.

Jake went home by taxi. When he arrived, he prepared something to eat. Jake switched on the TV. While he was eating, Jake was thinking of Anne all the time, but he didn't know why. So he decided to call her. While he was waiting for her to answer the phone, he thought what he was supposed to say. But then she answered the call “Hello?” said Anne. “Hello, here is Jake...from high school...sorry do I talk to Anne?” asked Jake. “Yes, here is Anne. Something happened? Oh ,and I forgot to say that the police wanted to talk to you in the hospital, but you slept so they decided to talk to you later.” Anne answered. “No, nothing happened, but I just wanted to talk to you, and I'll talk to the police...” Jake said. “Tomorrow at 2 pm at the police station.. the police want to talk to both of us, of course.” Said Anne a bit desperate. “Okay, can I invite you for a coffee afterwards?” Jake asked hopefully. Anne answered “ I don't know... I mean I have something to do tomorrow and...” Anne said when Jake interrupted her: “Come on! After the hard work, a cup of coffee and some distraction will do you good.” “Why are you so nice to me? I mean we hated each other at high school and now? I ran you over with my car!” said Anne. “What was before was before and today is today... yes, you hit me but it was an accident and I just broke my leg” said Jake and hoped that Anne would say yes. “You know what you're right... and why not.” Said Anne with a smile on her face. “Well then, see you tomorrow and don 't forget to go to the police station at 2 pm!” Anne went on. “ Yes, I won't forget it. See you tomorrow.”

Jake and Anne went to sleep. In the afternoon at 2 pm Anne and Jake went to the police station to talk about the accident. One hour later they walked out of the police station and went to a café. In the café Jake and Anne got to know each other better and they got along really well. The first meeting became a second and the second a third an so on. They fell in love with each other and decided to spend their whole life together so they got married and became a happy family.
